February 14 - Valentine's Day
February 15th to March 2nd: Books for Kids was started in 1999 to help schools put books into their libraries. With cutbacks in spending by the BC government schools were finding it very diffcult to find the funds in their budget to spend anything on books. BOOKS FOR KIDS is one way the community can help. Each year Books for Kids has a book sale. The community is asked to donate used books to designated drop off locations. Books for Kids collects, sorts and sell these books at an annual book sale. All funds are donated to the schools that volunteer their services. Last year they raised $15,000
Port Place will be one of the three drop off locations within Nanaimo and area. Bring your gently used books to the drop off area located near Falconer Books at the Shopping Centre between February 15th and March 2nd.
February 25 - Senior's Day
If you are 55 years or better you can save 10-50%
on the last Monday of every month from participating
Port Place Shopping Centre stores.
